C. Smith Haywood, MCEAA Vice Chairman
C. Smith Haywood is a charter member of The Madison County Executive Airport Authority, and has served as the board's vice chairman since the MCEAA was established in 1993.

Smith owns a Cessna 182P Skylane which he has been flying since 1979.  His first solo was in 1944 as a Naval Aviation Cadet. He has a private license with instrument rating.

He played a key role in the establishment of The Madison County Executive Airport Authority and the airport, and continues his efforts for its ongoing growth and success.

Smith spent 48 years as a tire dealer, founding Haywood Tire Company in 1964, and operating it until his retirement in 1997.

His current outside interests include flying, and economica development via aviation.

He and his wife Joyce have three daughters and four grandchildren.
