Welcome to The Madison County Executive Airport Accommodating. Convenient. Close-by. Whether your aircraft needs to be on the ground for 20 minutes or two days, you can be easily accommodated.

The Madison County Executive Airport is responsible for $17.85 million in annual economic activity, according to a report issued by The Alabama Department of Transportation, Aeronautics Division.

JVYSThe MCEAA "partnership" with
 JVYS - "Joint Venture Yulista & SES".

We built this 14,000 square foot aviation hangar for JVYS as part of our mission to bring more industrial development to the area.

JVYS provides support to the Prototype Integration Facility at Redstone Arsenal. The JVYS Aviation Mod Team operates out of the JVYS Aviation Hangar to support local, national and overseas installations.

General Aviation Airport:
The MCEAA owns and oversees the operation of the public general aviation Madison County Executive Airport, Tom Sharp, Jr. Field - KMDQ - located in Meridianville, Alabama, serving Huntsville and North Madison County, Alabama, and is conveniently accessible to key areas.

Runway:
The Madison County Executive Airport features a 5,008 x 100  foot runway with extended taxiway, which allows corporate jets access to the airport.

Our 5,600 square foot Smith Haywood Terminal Building offers many conveniences for pilots, passengers and the public

  • A transient pilot's lounge, featuring shower facilities, kitchenette, washer & dryer, and comfortable furnishings for resting and lounging.
  • Large and small conference rooms that allow large and small corporations to fly in and use for meetings. They are also available for local community and civic groups.
  • A public waiting room.
  • Classroom for training.
  • Pilot weather briefing room.

The building also houses the offices of Executive Flight Center, Inc., the contracted Fixed Base Operator, which provides a full line of FBO services, including flight instruction and ground schools, maintenance, fuel and oil, pilot supplies and plane rental.
